Actor, Emeka Ike has opened up on the crisis that rocked the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) under its former president, Ibinabo Fiberesima.
According to the actor, Ibinabo’s court case not only led to the poor management of the association, it also made it look bad in the eyes of the public.
He said that she was more interested in putting the wrong people in power like Segun Arinze, who, according to him, did not even have a university degree and was not fit to be in power at AGN.
“Things were being done in the wrong way and with the wrong procedure, few people wanted to take the Actors Guild of Nigeria as their own.”
He claimed Nollywood has always been making good movies saying that, “With no disrespect to Kunle Afolayan, who reportedly used a 200 million Naira grant to make the movie ‘October 1’, you can give a dunce 200 million Naira and he will make a good movie.”
Emeka Ike also opened up on his personal life and how bloggers are aggravating the issue. He said that he almost brought a lawsuit against a presenter because she brought down his name, describing him anti-feminist. He added that he hates man-haters disguised as feminists but loves feminists who are true to the cause.
He also denied long-standing wife-beating allegations, saying that wife beaters are lesser men. In conclusion, he urged women to be cautious about enjoying too much freedom. He urges that they should always remember that they have a home and that social media is just a mirage.
